Sacrament of Baptism

By appointment with your Parish Priest. Fr. Peter Madden or Deacon Barry Barton.

Sacrament of Baptism

Baptism is celebrating the sacrament of entry into the visible church. It is more than an idea or emotion i.e the church is an incarnate body of people where Christ chooses to dwell.

Jesus calls his people to come together to listen to His word (scripture) celebrate the Eucharist (His Real Presence) and met Him in His Body, the people.

Come to Church share our worship and ask is this the life we (parents) are choosing for our child.

Then ask for baptism and find out what is involved.

Having attended Mass, introduced yourself and your family to the clergy and the parish it is then possible to ask for the sacrament of baptism.

Baptisms are by appointment and parents should contact Fr. Peter Madden or Deacon Barry Barton to make arrangements having completed the ‘Request for Baptism Form’ which is available from them.

Once the form has been completed, signed and submitted in person to either Fr. Peter or Deacon Barry they will then be in a position to discuss with you your request.

Preparation for baptism will be on an individual family basis.

Baptismal services usually take place on Sunday at 12.30pm. following the 11am Mass.
